การประกาศรายชื่อผู้เข้าชิงรางวัลลูกโลกทองคำ หรือ Golden Globes awords ครั้งที่ 82 มีขึ้นเมื่อวันที่ 9 ธันวาคม 2024 โดยภาพยนตร์เพลงแนวแปลกเรื่อง Emilia Pérez เรื่องราวความสัมพันธ์ของมาเฟียยาเสพติดจากแม็กซิโก ที่ผ่านการแปลงเพศเป็นผู้หญิงกับทนายความของเขา ได้รับการเสนอชื่อเข้าชิงรางวัลมากที่สุด คือ 10 รางวัล
The Brutalist ภาพยนตร์ที่ยาว 3 ชั่วโมงครึ่ง (มีพักครึ่ง) เข้าชิง 7 รางวัล รวมถึงภาพยนตร์ยอดเยี่ยมประเภทดราม่า และดารานำของ เอเดรียน โบรดี้ และดาราสนับสนุนของ กาย เพียรซ ส่วนหนังตื่นเต้นเกี่ยวกับการคัดสรรค์พระสันตปาปาพระองค์ใหม่ เรื่อง Conclave ตามมาเป็นที่สาม กับการเสนอชื่อ 6 รางวัล รวมถึงภาพยนตร์ยอดเยี่ยม และดารานำยอดเยี่ยมของ เรล์ฟ ไฟน์น์ และ อิสเบลล่า รอสเซลลินี ด้วย
โดยลูกโลกทองคำปีนี้ แปลกว่าปีที่ผ่านๆ มา เพราะมีภาพยนตร์ฟอร์มใหญ่ หรือประสบความสำเร็จในด้านรายได้ ถูกเสนอชื่อชิงรางวัลน้อยลง โดยนักวิเคราะห์เชื่อว่าอาจจะเป็นเพราะว่า งานปีนี้ เป็นครั้งแรกที่สมาคมผู้สื่อข่าวต่างประเทศของฮอลลีวูด (the Hollywood Foreign Press Association) ไม่ได้เป็นผู้จัดงาน หลังจากมีเรื่องเสื่อมเสียเกี่ยวกับการคอรัปชั่นในองค์กรและเรื่องความไม่เท่าเทียมด้านสีผิว ฯลฯ ในช่วงปีที่ผ่านมา
อย่างไรก็ตาม เหล่า “ดาราเกรดเอ” ยังคงตบเท้าชิงชิงรางวัลกันมากมาย เช่น เซ็นเดย่า, ทิโมธี ชาลาเมท์, แอนเจลิน่า โจลี, เดเนียล เกร็ก, เดนเซล วอชิงตัน, อาริอาน่า กรันเด และ ซีลีน่า โกเมซ เป็นต้น
โดยการประกาศผลและมอบรางวัลลูกโลกทองคำครั้งที่ 82 จะมีขึ้นที่โรงแรมเบฟเวอรี่ฮิลตัน ในวันอาทิตย์ที่ 5 มกราคม 2025 ถ่ายทอดทางเครือข่าย ซีบีเอส (และพาราเมาท์พลัส) เวลา 17.00 น.
